KIDSART Clay Tiles with Ginger Dunlap-Dietz

This workshop will give children a chance to play with clay and learn about how it can be used to create personal art.

The first thing we will do is look at a number of natural objects and describe them and then the kids will start pencil sketching letters and designs from nature on  paper.  When they arrive at images they want, we will look at the clay tools they will use to carve or press or attach their designs making a picture that pleases them on the premade 5 1/2 inch clay tiles.  When the designs are finished, we will use underglaze and add colors with brushes to the tile composition.

The tiles will be fired in The Pottery kiln to a high temperature providing a long-lasting piece of artwork, and will be ready for pickup in about a week.
