Watercolor Plein Air Workshop with Jason Li – Indoors

Learn some of the most effective watercolor techniques: from basic to advanced skills while looking to the desert for inspiration. This class will be compact, intense, fun and offer a friendly learning environment. All levels welcomed. The class will end with one student taking one of Jason Li’s paintings home (valued between $700 and $1000).
Agenda
Day 1
AM: Lecture on Watercolor Materials – Introduction to different kind of papers, paints, brushes, and techniques. Demo & Q&A session.
PM: Hands-On Workshop
Focus on the preparation, composition, how to control the narrative of your painting. Students will paint the image from my demo.
Day 2
AM & PM: Hands-On Workshop
Work with a new image and learn the steps from start to finish. During the process, you will receive feedback and guidance on your paintings.
Day 3
AM: You have the choice of working on a new image or finishing up the pieces from the previous days while continuing to receive feedback and guidance
PM: Critique / Discussion
All students will showcase the work done in class as well as one piece painted outside of class. Open discussion will follow.
The class ends with a raffle of one of Jason Li’s painting among the students.
