In a world where, due in large part to the smartphone, everyone is a photographer, a basic knowledge of the history of the medium is increasingly important. This class will walk the student through the development of photography, as an art form, as a means of communication, and as a means of documentation. Students need not be photographers, they need only bring their imaginations.

MATERIALS:

This will be a lecture based session with a presentation. No materials needed.

INSTURCTOR BIO:

Tom Hogan has been a working photographer for more than 50 years.  From reportage, through weddings and portraiture, to commercial, stock, and fine art photography, he has made a life in photography that now includes education.
